Searching for an Advertisement

The AdNet database contains advertisements for products and services loaded by registered agents. To search for a product (Advertisement) enter your preferences into the boxes on screen. Move your mouse cursor over the box you wish to change and click it, then type in your requirements.

You may leave any fields blank to start with, and if too many records are returned then enter some more search fields to narrow down the selection.

Remember that the more requirements you enter the less records will appear in the result list.

When you have completed the form, click the button on the screen. This will send your requirements to the AdNet computer, which will send back a list of ads which you can usually view as actual photos of the product taken with digital cameras by our agents.

Some Tips On Searching

The system will find advertisements in direct response to the search criteria you type into the keyword, classification, region and price fields.

Keywords

The keywords you use should best describe the item, business or service you seek. Use one, two or three obvious words related to what you are looking for. If you use more than one word, remember there will be less choice available. Use short words like "house" rather than "houses" or "car" rather than "cars" or "antique" rather than "antiques". There is also the situation where someone may have used other words for the same goods and services.

Classification

This field is used to describe the category for the type of product or service you wish to view. In particular, "for sale" relates to anything for sale such as house, boat car appliance etc. Some companies are listing their main product lines as an advertorial in this section as well.

Region

This selects the area where the item or service may be. As the internet is both nationwide and international for many things, a lot of goods and services appear as a nationwide listing as they can be provided from anywhere or couriered to anywhere.

Price.

The most important part of using price in the search is to make sure you put in a range of price e.g. $10,000 to $12,000 rather than just $10,000 which will only search for items listed at $10,000. Many businesses have multiple products or services and they may not have a price listed. If you search for these with a price constraint, you may not find these businesses. Some businesses have pricing in their text which is not searchable.

Examples of typical searches:

"Furniture lounge" and then area "Auckland" or "Nationwide"
"Car Toyota Corolla" and maybe price "10,000" to "15,000"
"House Upper Hutt"
"Restaurant Japanese" in area "Auckland"
As time goes by, we will have many more advertisements and specific searches could be narrowed down further. e.g. "House 4 bedroom Brick Epsom" "$450,000 to $550,000". The main category for looking at anything available for sale is "for sale" . Here you can type in the keyword(s) for anything you may be interested in looking for.

Some of the typical words you may use in "For Sale":

House, car, antique, boat, furniture, clothes, gift, accomodation, hardware, restaurant

If you wish to place an advertisement, please email and one of our agents will be happy to assist.
